Book and DVD Donations

  • Accepted at the discretion of the Library Director and Technical Services Librarian
  • Must support the current curriculum of SUNY Maritime College
  • May be discarded or donated if in poor condition or outside the Library's collection development policy

Note: Donations of over 25 items must be emailed to library@sunymaritime.edu to discuss. The library does not provide letters of acknowledgement for tax purposes.

Archival Donations

Effective immediately, the Stephen B. Luce Library and Archives is temporarily suspending the acceptance of donations of archival material. This decision will allow us to focus on the ongoing processing and organization of our current collections.

Please note that College Records (i.e. internal transfers from departments and current student groups), will continue to be accepted, provided that all necessary paperwork is properly completed and submitted. College records from Alumni will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We appreciate your understanding and support during this period.

Items for the archives must meet our Collection Development policy. All donations must be approved by the Archivist and Library Director. Please email library@sunymaritime.edu to discuss the process and if the Maritime College Archives are the best fit for this collection.

The archives does not accept the donation of ship models.

Financial Donations

All financial donations must be processed through the SUNY Maritime Foundation.

Museum Donations

The Stephen B. Luce Library is not affiliated with the Maritime Industry Museum. Potential donations to the museum must be addressed to the Museum's director at museum@sunymaritime.edu.
