First Female Student
The first female student admitted to the SUNY Maritime College was Marjorie Murtagh in 1972. She graduated in 1974 with a degree in Naval Architecture. However she was not in the regiment of cadets.

The first 7 female cadets were admitted to the college in September 1974.
